Clinical Consultation & Supervision
Supervision & consultation are the cornerstones of good clinical work. We should never practice in a vacuum, without other clinicians to help us through our stuck points. I believe that the clinical work we do is ever-evolving and that even the most seasoned clinician should continue to learn and grow. As therapists, we have an obligation to continue to evolve and one of the ways we are able to do so is to take into consideration other viewpoints from within the field through the process of consultation and supervision.
Throughout my time in the field, I have been able to identify how my supervisors, mentors and colleagues have helped me grow and continue to blossom into the clinician I am today. Without them and their ongoing support I don't think I would be not only the clinician I am today, but also the person. I am one who still needs & relies on consultation of others in order to do my best clinical work and support my clients in the best way possible.
I genuinely enjoy the process of providing consultation & supervision because I feel while the support is very much unidirectional (towards the supervisee), there is also a part of it that is bidirectional, in that I am constantly learning from those I support in this work as well. It's true that anyone in this field can choose to offer supervision, but I feel not all are equipped or feel truly called to support other clinicians in this way. I do.
Rate for consultation/supervision: $165/hr meeting, $125/45 minute meeting
